The big fork and spoon

I bought this bulletin board at the Pottery Barn outlet several years ago and I knew I would find just the right use for it someday.  Fortunately, I came up with an idea before it had to go out with the “de-stuffing” of our house.

It was $.97!  How could I pass that up?

Actually, as I was “de-stuffing” in my kitchen the other day I added these 2 wooden utensils to the toss pile.  Looking at them reminded me of one of my favorite episodes of “Everybody loves Raymond” called “The big fork and spoon.”  It’s hilarious!

Anyway,  I painted the fork and spoon black, stapled white fabric to the existing bulletin board, and hot glued the utensils to the board.

I hung it up by my phone in the kitchen and added some push pins to make it functional.  I am so pleased to have upcycled a few items and created functional art I am loving.
